'Cause you're the storm that I've been needing

Source: Hubble

oh it's healing - bang bang bang
i can hear your cannons call
you've been aiming at my land
your hungry hammer is falling

and if you want me I'm your country

I'm an angel bored like hell
and you're a devil meaning well
you steal my lines and you strike me dumb
come raise your flag upon me

and if you want me I'm your country
if you win me I'm forever - oh yeah!

'cause you're the storm that I've been needing
and all this peace has been deceiving
I like the sweet life and the silence
but it's the storm that I believe in

come and conquer and drop your bombs
cross my borders and kill the calm
bear your fangs and burn my wings
I hear bullets singing

and if you want me I'm your country
if you win me I'm forever - oh yeah!

'cause you're the storm that I've been needing
and all this peace has been deceiving
I need some wind to get me sailing
so it's the storm that I believe in

you fill my heart, you keep me breathing
'cause you're the storm that I believe in

and if you want me I'm your country

V is for Victoria I Heart You

I've always been a bit of fan of Victoria Beckham, even before the terrible rumours from the Spice Girls days that she was a transvestite...

I love her elagance, style, poise and collections.  Her new denim collection is full of statement pieces of stand out demin and leggings. In addition, the collection has uber chic music and ballet-esque movements accompaning the new pieces worn on flying model arses. What a great way to show off a new line!

Her new collection is DEFINATELY worth checking out at Net A Porter DO IT NOW.

Packing up your life is hard to do.

Sometimes, life is a bit like a garden in which one must undergo some weeding...

Weed: a plant that is considered a nuisance and is generally unwanted. Weeds can crowd out, block sunlight from, and overtake more desireable plants. On top of that, weeds can also take the nutrients from the soil thereby, prohibiting the amount of nutrients available for other, more desireable, plants.

They may sound unattractive but they come in all shapes, sizes, forms and colours. And often, to those of us who are not experts at spotting them, they can be mistaken for a desireable plant.

Like a garden, there are things/people/vices/indulgences/habits/environments/situations that can grow start growing in our lives which need to be unmercifully plucked, pulled, or hoed, as they can inhibit our ability to blossom to our full potential.

They can suffocate us so that we can no longer grow in the way we want to, they impinge on our personal space so as to make us feel uncomfortable, and they can take our nutrients so we become malnourished.

These are some of the reasons why everyone should do a little weeding now and then.

Fur Part 2: Real fur, real me.

I am the proud new owner of this gorgeous persian lamb jacket, which my Nana so generously gave me!

Purchased when she lived in England, circa 1950s, it is an absolute treasure! And yes, it is coming with me to bear the cold winter in the arctic circle!

Takk skul du ha, Nana!

"Bring it, Ludwig" said John James Preston.

So, it may be so last year (or 3 centuries ago) but I don't care. The words of Beethoven always resound in my mind when I watch the SATC movie or read his (now) infamous letter/s:

..You - my life - my All - farewell.
Oh, go on loving me - never doubt
the faithfullest heart
Of your beloved
Ever thine
Ever mine
Ever ours.

This letter is actually the last of a series of three, which were found among a pile of papers after his death and addressed to his "Immortal Beloved" (Love Letters of Great Men, Ursula Doyle).

Extracts from some other hot letters:

Henry VIII to Anne of Boleyn:

My heart and I surrender themsevles
into your hands,
and we supplicate to be commended
to your good graces,
and that by absence your affections
may not be diminished to us,
For that would be to augment our pain,
which would be a great pity,
since absence gives enough,
and more than I ever thought could be felt.

Well, sadly he did eventually think more could be felt as he beheaded her...

Napolean Bonaparte to Josephine de Beauharnais (1796):
13 November

I do not love thee any more;
On the contrary, I detest thee.
Thou art horrid, very awkward,
Very stupid, a very
circa, early December

I have not spent a day without
Loving you;
I have not spent a night without embracing you;
I have not so much
as drunk one cup of tea without cursing
the pride and ambition which force me to remain
apart from he moving spirit
Of my life.
In the midst of my duties,
whether I am at the head of the
army or inspecting the camps,

My beloved Josephine stand alone in my heart,
occupies my mind,
fills my thoughts.

Charles Darwin to Emma Wedgwood (1839)

Excuse this much egotism,
- I give it to you because I think you
will humanise me,
And soon teach me there is
greater happiness than buidling
theories and accumulating facts
in silence and Solitude.
My dearest Emma,
I earnestly pray, you may
never regreat the great,
and I will add very good,
deed, you are to perform
on the Tuesday: my own dear
future wife,
God bless you...

I hate to wake you up to say "goodbye".
